I miss having a good pair of oversized headphones. You just can’t capture funk genius with earbuds. There is so much going on in this track, all of it deliciously dripping with swagger. And I don’t mean what everybody is referring to today. Look at yourself in the mirror while bobbin to Stevie Wonder and you’ll see what I mean. Just don’t hurt yourself.

Genius on so many levels, and oh so funky! There is ear candy, and then there is eargasm. This just bangs in ways that no other track can. James Brown meets George Martin, calling out what would eventually become Funkadelic. If you think Stevie Ray’s remake is better, you don’t know funk.

One of those songs i feel more than i hear, no matter how loud its playing.

One of my ATF compositions by any artist. RnB textured with funk, intricately layered but very, very catchy. An inspiration for another favorite song of mine – Sledgehammer. Another great example of the human potential realized.

*Note: this post is a collection of snippets from my Facebook about the song, under one roof.
