OMG. This is the American Doctor Who I’ve always dreamed about! I love that there is some semblance of continuity throughout the series.

When Futurama dropped, it was my Doctor Who before the revival. It was, it’s namesake. A futurama. But what I really wanted less Journey Man and more Doctor Who, with all the genre references Futurama had but the BBC series lacked.

We trip out on how much the Simpsons have gotten right over the years, ahead of time. I think’s it’s hilarious to see how Rick and Morty gets it so (intentionally) wrong. What I love most about the show is it’s spirit of irreverance (and not just through Rick Sanchez). It’s not out to offend anyone in particular, it just doesn’t give a shit. I totally get Rick. Give me an endless supply of booze and tech, and I’m there, man. In my underwear and cape. I’d start off trying to save the world from itself, and ultimately end up Rickrolling my way through timespace. And yeah, I’d take along a kid or two, just to show impressionable minds how fucking amazing the universe really is. And it’s going to make more sense to explain if I’m slightly intoxicated, I’ll ramble slower, and use smaller words. Rick is a timelord with a failing liver and a failed sense of humanity. I’m sure that a younger Rick has probably saved the universe a few times, and then a few times too many. At some point, after repeatedly saving the universe from whatever, there has to be a point where it becomes a shit job.

I just binged the first season.

Separate note: Having grandkids one day is gonna be frakkin awesome. For me, anyway ;’)
