Ladies, quietly scan your male friends’ timelines for the past week, even month. How many likes and shares do they have supporting YOUR issues? Are they actively supporting women empowerment? Or are we just still sharing hot chicks dressed in schoolgirl uniforms sucking on lollipops? Are we rooting your success stories, or still leaving “Damn she fine” comments on internet model memes? In general, post after post after post, how do we judge the women in our feed? By how respectable, or how fuckable?

Now, if these male friends of yours are anti-Trump liberal democrats, take that into consideration. We are supposed to be your allies. Are we really lifting a finger to help you be heard? Or are we simply passively sitting this one out?

My point is this: is Trump/Kavanaugh really THE problem? Is toxic masculinity really a partisan issue? Is the glass ceiling really the undoing of just one party?

Don’t just expect more from your enemies. Expect even more from your allies. Because, well, they’re your allies.

Keep scrolling. I’ll wait.

(Guys, we have to do better. We have to BE better. Not because of our political or social beliefs. But because we deserve to be better than brainwashed hypocrites. We have to set the example, so our boys can become men, our girls become women. Regardless of race. Regardless of party. Regardless of cliché label we think we need to justify. Lip service is not enough anymore)
