When Obama won in 2008, The Republicans doubled-down on their stubbornness, got politically active, contributed to their PACs, bought more guns, etc. They literally brought the government to a grinding halt for almost two weeks.
While Trump is winning in 2016, The Democrats are throwing in the towel, and contemplating leaving the country.
I will give the conservative crowd one thing: they are here to stay. As far at they’re concerned, this IS their country. If you don’t like it, you can leave.
I wish that my fellow liberals were as committed to this country. Yet, I get the impression that if they could leave this country, they would. Which, poetically enough, is what the conservatives want.
I’m not going anywhere. This country is MY country too. I am proud to be an American, even if other Americans aren’t so willing to include me. Becoming an American citizen is one of the most important things that could have ever happened to me. I want this nation to live up to the ideals that’s instilled in our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. I want to see Democrats and Republicans trade in their stubbornness for solidarity. I want to see ALL Americans working together to Make America Great, for All Americans. I want diversity to be the buzzword, not divisiveness.
If you give up on America, you’re just handing it over to the people who are going to make you regret your lack of conviction.
Donald Trump isn’t going to ruin America. We are. By giving 50% when we need to be giving 110%. Our fellow Americans are depending on us to not turn a blind eye and a cold shoulder to injustice. And so is the next generation.
Anyone who wants to try to rub Trump’s America in my face will have their roll slowed. Anyone who wants to just complain about Trump can get out of the way and stop annoying those of us who are too busy trying to do something about it.
