I’ll say it time and again, “I’m not loyal.” I watch football. But I’m not a die-hard Raiders or Niners fan. A good game is a good game. I don’t feel like I need to sell my soul to a side and weather it thick or thin, good or bad. The Raiders suck when they suck. Just like any team on any division, in any sport. The same with political parties, candidates, and elected officials. The same with social leaders and causes. The same with businesses and industries. I support Black Power and any effort to improve the Black community. I don’t support or gloss over any factor that is detriment to that effort, whether from within our own ranks, or from racist outsiders. I also believe that it’s okay to be White. I’m all for any form of pro-White stance, as long as it’s not White supremacy. I love my country, I’m a proud American. But I’m not blind to the travesties caused by our sense of blind nationalism. I’m a citizen who believes we are long overdue in honoring native equality and indigenous sovereignty. I believe in the values of organic farming, but I’m still gonna order a Happy Meal from time to time. I believe in God, but I don’t condemn paganism (God and Mother Nature are not exclusive forces in the universe).
Even when I do have strong feelings about one side of an issue, I still feel obligated to try to wrap my head around the other side. Not just to tear it to shreds, but to understand where other people are coming from. Dealing with issues is a learning process. A process that I hope to grow from, gaining not just knowledge, but also wisdom. So yeah, you can say that I’m a philisophical slut. I’ll fuck with anyone who’s willing to fuck with me. This hoe knows no loyalty to ideals. If an ideal doesn’t feel right anymore, don’t expect me to cling in desperation.
