This makes ZERO sense. Harley-Davidson should be the flagship brand on #MAGA Economic Recovery. The President should be working with HD to address the challenges it (and so many other iconic American brands) faces in the evolving economy. After all, aren’t these the kinds of jobs we should be saving from going overseas? I know the CEO had unkind words for the President, but I can see where it comes from. One would think that after such a touted White House visit, that a more amicable partnership would have formed. After all, HD is investing into the future with its proof-of-concept zero-emissions bike (which I’m saving up for), and it has always listened to its fanbase, which can be challenging to keep up with.
What are we left with if forced to view Harley-Davidson as “unAmerican?” It’s an epitome of rebel spirit. I can’t think of anything more American than that.
And this is coming from a Honda rider.
President Donald Trump says Harley-Davidson will be “taxed like never before” and that the U.S. motorcycle company was using increased trade tensions as an excuse to justify planned shifts in production overseas.
