It’s unclear if the report will be made public.
What disheartens me is that the talk about this is polarized solely around whether people support Trump or not. That makes the public discourse very subjective either way, and thats just as scary as the controversy itself.
Meanwhile, we babble on about buzzwords, the latest one being “fake news.” Fake news, if that’s what we’re going to call it, affected a lot more than the election, for a lot longer. Fake news implies that it is tied to just pro-conservative sources. In reality, the liberal outlets are just as bad. In reality, it goes far beyond politics.
It’s called propaganda. Information published and disseminated for the sole purpose of forcing you to choose a side. News, because of its targeted audiences, tends to already lean towards a popular viewpoint. We tend to go with stories we like, and ignore the ones we don’t. News outlets have bills to pay, so they publish news they know we are going to like. FOXNews may be one of the most biased sources for news info, but it is also the most-watched, most trusted in America, probably because of that. Current News/Al Jazeera America may have been more balanced, with greater integrity, but could not afford to keep paying its own bills. There is no profit in truth.
A foreign government is being accused of tainting our national election, with various trails of circumstantial and forensic evidence that begs a closer look.
I am not getting involved with the public debates, because its too predictably Democrats-v-Republican. No point in trying to share ideas to closed minds.
This election should be scrutinized. From the ground up, up to the very top. This should NOT be just a witch hunt targeting Donald Trump. The Democrats should expect to be as scrutinized, as should Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
Yes, i voted for Hillary. I still think she will make a better President than anyone else in recent memory. I still want her campaign scrutinized as much as Trump’s, let the truth hash its way out and let the chips fall wherever they may.
What’s going afoul here is much larger than any one person, or any one party. Vladamir Putin is no trusted ally of the US. Too much history. And in recent memory, Putin’s Russia has been on the other side of nearly every US ally we chose to support. And he is gangster about it. Just look at Crimea, Kazakhstan and Georgia. The Soviet Republic has no qualms showing its teeth to keep that Republic united. Is the US Republic willing to do the same, if California or Oregon exits? Putin is no idiot, and he is not a bureaucrat. He had the balls to destandardize the US Dollar in Eastern European trade, which has quietly sent ripples into the global economy.
I am not accusing Putin of being an enemy of America. I am just saying that he does not have our best interests in mind, he has Russia’s, as well as his own. We must step our game up. And we must demand that our govt do the same. We must fight our planned obsolescence.
