We find tons of White people at Black Pride events, tons of straights at gay pride events, etc celebrating together. So where are the White Pride events that welcome Blacks to celebrate with them? Invite me, and I will be more than happy to attend.

In fairness, the other events are designed to promote awareness and inclusion of their groups to the otherwise unaware mainstream, because those groups are under-represented. It’s more than a stretch to say that White Americans are under-represented in this country. Demographically speaking, they dominate just about every aspect of society, govt, industry and culture of the United States. We are aware of that, even when we aren’t conscious of it.

I will ALWAYS be waiting for my Whitefest invitation. I will go with as much eager curiosity as i do for the Pac Rim Festival, the Japanese Bazaar, MLK365/BLM/African American Festival, Latin Fest, (LGBTQ) Pride, March for Women, or any of the many other pro-culture celebrations i love going to. I would love to see an event where someone with “White Pride”/”White Power”/”WhiteLivesMatter”/”It’s A White Thing” t-shirt welcomes me with a handshake or hug. I can take you to any pro-Black event i go to and promise that you will make new friends there. Just look through my event photo albums on fb for proof.

The only pro-White group I have come across that was inclusive of me was White People For Black Lives. They were proud of who they are, and they wanted to show that White Pride can be pro-Black, because diversity is pro-American. They weren’t apologists expressing White guilt. They were proud Americans who believe that any and every fellow American should be treated fairly in this country. Show me more of that, in any form, by any group, and i’ll wear the t-shirt.
